One of the main features of this road runs building is that, though treated as one has been group, all the departments have their extension,
under each block. This done so that with future each building can be
extended east or west without inter- ference to the road access. The estimated cost of the buildings is $2,000,000.
The faculty of agriculture at the moment is at the design stage but it is hoped to have the buildings ready by March 1960.
Earth work for the lake in the centre of the valley is well advanced in the marshy ground, and on the ground to the east various playing areas are being laid out. It is hoped that funds will be available early in
the second phase to provide extensive sport pavilions, changing rooms and a grandstand for the athletics field. The total cost of the first phase of the University is in the region of $15.5 million.
