There is a fairly level stretch of ground extending back from the road junction to about 150 feet before the sharply rising hillside is reached. The site formation work was, therefore, fairly simple. The foot of the steep slope was

The principle of construction follows that of the other Government quarters mentioned above, in that the main bearing walls are of reinforced crete, with 9-inch exterior walls of brick and 3-inch interior partitions.
