floor where the slope of the hill will per- mit it. In this lower ground floor there will be situated a large combined dining room and reading or play room, kitchen and office. Lavatories and washrooms and a servants' room will also be located here.

The main part of the building, which will be on the same level as the other building, will be L-shaped about a beauti- ful pagoda built many years ago. Here there will be six dormitories with total accommodation for fifty beds, a sitting room and a staff room.

The aged women will be housed in four dormitories, each containing twenty-five beds, which will project as parallel wings from a main connecting section which will be the living and dining area. A fifth wing will really be the assembly hall. On ordinary occasions it will be the drawing room, but the chapel is situated at one end and so this section will be the re- ligious as well as the social focus of the inmates' activities.

Everything has been planned to make it comfortable and pleasant for old people, without their having to move around too much.
