FIXING TOOL
A handy tool for sites where there is no power provision, the Type 7481 hand tool is made in two versions for placing 5/16in. and 3/8in. diameter Nutsert threaded inserts.
The 7 in. long tool has two main sections, one fitted into the other. The first, an aluminium-alloy casting, takes the form of a short cylinder with a pistol-grip handle set at 90 degrees to
it. The second section comprises a metal rod with a threaded drive screw at one end and an aluminium-alloy turning handle at the other. This rod fits smoothly into the bore of the cylinder in the first section so that the drive screw projects through the far end.
To prepare the tool for fixing, the user threads a Nutsert on to the drive screw and, holding the pistol grip, in- serts the Nutsert into a pre-drilled hole. He then turns the rear handle of the tool clockwise with the other hand, screwing the tapered remote section of the Nutsert into the flanged shell at the end nearest the tool, caus- ing the shell to expand and grip in the
Nutsert fixing tool
hole. When the handle meets a marked resistance, the operator knows that the Nutsert is firmly in place. He then has only to rotate the handle in an anti- clockwise direction to withdraw the drive screw from the Nutsert.

CONCRETE RESURFACER
A new type of heavy duty floor topping for deteriorated concrete has been announced by The Monroe Co. Inc., 10796 Quebec Avenue, Cleve- land, Ohio, USA. An entirely new floor can be rolled on over an old one,
providing a tough surface that will withstand heavy loads.
Steel-Hard, as the surfacing is call- ed, transforms pitted concrete floors into a hard, smooth base with an aver- age depth of only 4in. All the resins used are above 250 degrees melting point to eliminate softening under summer temperatures.
