R. H.S.

the new shapes in steel from Stewarts and Lloyds

ARE PRODUCTIVE

R.H.S. means Rectangular Hollow Sections. These new shapes in steel speed construction. They have the necessary strength but not the usual high weight.

R.H.S. have more scope in design as well as in engineering. Used unclad, they blend with archi- tecture and background. Or they can be easily and effectively clad in any of a wide variety of materials.

R.H.S. outdate traditional joists and girders. This can already be seen in 61 countries where footbridges, cranes, conveyors, air terminals. schools and all kinds of fabrications incorporate these new shapes in steel.

The details of R.H.S. would make profitable reading for all architects, engineers, and equip ment fabricators.

The R.H.S. Range,

Section sizes: 1⁄2" to 10" squares and 2" x 1" to 12" x 8" rectangles. R.H.S. are available in mild steel or high yield steel and can be supplied to the following national specifications: B.S.15. B.S.968, DIN 17.00, ST42/3 and ST52/3. SISI41411. ASTM A36.

Full details are available from the addresses below.

R.H.S. are incorporated in the Canadian Inter- national Harvester chisel plough. R.H.S. have been used here because of their high torsional resistance and the simplicity in attach- ing components.
