R.H.S.-New Shapes in Steel from Stewarts and Lloyds

R.H.S. are used for the stanchions of this new Technical College at Langside, Glasgow, Scotland.

R.H.8. means Rectangular Hollow Sections. These square and rectangular sections made by Stewarts and Lloyds combine light weight with high strength. R.H.S. are changing the face of many architectural and structural projects — schools, universities, multi-storey blocks, cranes, bridges and mechanical handling equipment. In building projects, they reduce on-site welding and jointing to a minimum and allow clean, modern design to be produced with the minimum of effort. In addition, R.H.8. reduce installation and maintenance costs on this kind of work. Anyone interested in the future of building and structural engineering should know more about these new shapes in steel. For details write to I.C.I. (China) Ltd.
