Tower
Apartment Block

Husband and wife team, Natalia and Manuel Vicente, describe their design for a tower block of apartments on which work is just starting. The block is a part of Macau's Urban Development Plan for the Outer Harbour reclamation area and is a typical project due to be repeated several times.
FOR this prototype block, the speci-
fications concerning the type, class and system of grouping of apart- ments together with their means of vertical access, are in accordance with Macau's Urban Development Plan Ordinance.
We defined the other primary re- quirements as follows:
1. The plastic form of the build- ing considered as a punctual element

to be viewed all around, integrated in a whole and intended to be repeated.
2. The grouping of four apart- ments around a single vertical ac- cess, without loss of privacy for each.
3. The correct orientation of views, sun control and ventilation of each apartment.
