The fully automatic electroplating plant shown above has recently been installed by W. Canning & Co. Ltd., at the MK Works in Edmonton.

The purpose of this plant is to zinc-electroplate all MK steel boxes which are used solely for flush mounting.

The MK plant includes a chromate passivation process which gives an attractive appearance to the zinc electro- deposits, and also provides protection to the coating against finger-marking and surface discoloration.

The zinc-metallic coating ensures perfect earth con- tinuity without the need for cleaning or scraping.

Zinc-electroplating of flush steel boxes has many distinct advantages compared with painted or enamelled finishes. It is not subject to chipping or mechanical damage which can occur with organic coatings.

This advance in finish once again signifies the deter- mination of MK to remain leaders in the field of quality and value.

Look out for the change to passivated zinc-electro- plated finish being applied to MK flush steel boxes during the next few months.
