The sixth floor level separates the offices and shops from the apartments above and is used as an amenity level for both residents and visitors. Lounges. reception areas and restaurants are provided here and outside, the area above the cinema, enclosed on three sides by the apart- ment blocks, is laid out as a roof garden of about 14,000 sq. ft. with a swimming pool.
The 11 floors of apartments are arranged in an H-shape in order that each flat will receive a maximum of natural lighting. The apartments range in size from about 350 to 1,000 sq. ft. in floor area, the average being 500 sq. ft.
They are designed as bachelor re- sidences. Each has one bathroom and kitchenette and is provided with such services as telephone, laundry and Rediffusion.
Twelve high speed lifts serve the upper floors and the whole building is air-conditioned by a Fancoil system from a central plant on the ground floor.
Caisson foundations for the struc- ture will be completed this month by Hsin Chong & Co. Superstructure work will begin in May and the building is due for completion before March, 1969.
