Air-operated Mechanism Reduces Manual Work
AN air operated caulking gun has been developed by Pyles Industries. Inc. 28990 Wixom Road, Wixom, Mich., USA, to dispense sealants, adhesives and caulking compound from both bulk containers and pre- packed cartridges. It is said reduce operator fatigue and to be particularly suitable for high-speed weather sealing.

container and its handle of high- impact plastic. Engineered in alu- minium, the barrel comes in two sizes, a large version of 48 cu. in. filled direct from a bulk container and a 24 cu. in. size capable of accepting a prepacked cartridge. The handle, connected to a portable compressor or mains air system, incorporates a bayonet lock to secure the barrels and a trigger control to regulate the flow rate. Both barrel sizes accept a wide range of plastic or metal nozzles. Overall length, with bulk barrel, is 201⁄2 in.. with cartridge barrel 121⁄2 in.
Additional equipment supplied with the gun includes follower plates for one and five gallon bulk containers. Each plate, shaped to fit snugly within the opening diameter of the appro-
priate container, floats on top of the caulking compound and allows the larger gun barrel, when inserted into a centre hole, to be filled by means of a vacuum created by the air com- pressor.
A plastic cap covers the centre opening when it is not in use, and the follower plate sinks down with the level of the compound, scraping the inside walls of the container clean as it does so.

DUCT CONNECTOR Made From New Weather Resistant Material
INTRODUCTION of a new range of Durodyne commercial flexible duct connectors suitable for indoor and outdoor use is announced by Van den Bosch, Ltd., Europair House, Alexan- dra Road, London, S.W.19.
The line is manu- factured from Du- rolon, a new wea- ther resistant, waterproofed ma- terial developed by Dupont. It is said to have a heat re- sistance working limit of 300 de- grees F. and to be highly resistant to chemicals and ab- rasion. Durolon is made from a coat- ed, heavy glass fabric which consists of multiple lay- ers of Dupont Elastomer which re- tains its flexibility in temperatures as low as 50 degrees F.
Durodyne connector
The new connector is available in three grades: Metal-Fab for commer- cial use; Super-Fab for special com- mercial applications and Econ-o-Fab for light commercial and residential use. All grades have a tensile strength of 500 lb. and a weight of 24 oz. per square yard.
