DRAWING AID
With the new Quickdraw model DLS plans and sketches can be inclin- ed from the horizontal plane at any predetermined angle say 21⁄2 or 5 degrees and the existing set-up of parallel movement and fixed angles maintained throughout. Specific angles are immediately available at the turn of a knob.
―
The existing range of fixed angles can be altered to suit any particular application, e.g. roof trusses. An in- crement of 5 degrees on the protractor head would give fixed angles of 35, 50, 65 degrees, etc. Strains, stresses and thrust calculations can also be made

quickly and the basic template can be changed to a metric template at will. The makers are Quickdraw Co. Ltd., 10 Beechdale, Winchmore Hill, London, N.21.
CONCRETE REMOVER
Reebaklens, a solution of acid- based materials, inhibitors and dispers- ing agents, removes concrete and other inorganic deposits quickly and eco- nomically.
It is acid based to remove deposits effectively, while the inhibitors make it safe to use in conjunction with all types of metal, except galvanised steel, wood, glass, plastics and rubber. The addition of dispersing and penetrating agents enables the solution to pene- trate quickly layers of oil and grease which may be present on plant and machinery.
As well as removing mortar runs from brickwork or concrete, hardened concrete from machinery and cleaning
plaster or mortar deposits from floors, it may also be used as an etching solu- tion for floors, before applying a poly- mer resin coating. The material is brush applied and will remove rust de- posits or millscale from steelwork and hard water deposits from pipes and tanks.

PATTERNED GLASS
Autumn and Discus are the names of two new forms of patterned glass brought out by Pilkington Bros. Ltd., St. Helens, Lancs., UK. They are de- signed for large areas of obscured glass where 'borrowed' light is required.
Autumn, which has an 83 per cent light transmission, is an overall natural leaf design, while Discus is made up of a series of concentric, overlapping cir- cles on a stippled background. Both glasses are patterned on one side and are made in 3mm and 5mm thick- nesses. Normal maximum sizes are 305 cm x 137 cm.

CONCRETE TESTING
A portable battery-powered instru- ment designed to assist engineers in the concrete industry by measuring concrete maturity has been introduced by A.E. Electronics Ltd., Glacier House, Ealing Road, Alperton, Middx., UK.
From the instrument's reading, practical estimates of the variation of strength of the concrete with time sub- sequent to pouring can be made.
The instrument consists of two units, a reusable temperature-sensitive probe and cable which plugs into a portable battery-powered unit. The electronic unit and battery are housed
