foot pedals only. The whole of the available horsepower can be applied to any motion.
Basic front end equipment com- prises a one-piece box section high tensile steel boom, used on all equip- ments with one standard bucket arm, 6 ft. long, used for trenching and grabbing. For extra outreach a longer bucket arm, 9 ft. centres, is available. This can be used in conjunction with the 5 ft. wide ditching blade for river cleaning. Diamond Bits Will
Drive Through Concrete
THE Blue Dragon concrete drilling machine with 14 basic components that can be assembled into 22 differ- ent machines for specific requirements is to be marketed in S.E. Asia by Almar International, USA.
It is claimed that the drill can cut a 4 in. hole through a 12 in. reinforc-

CANAL TRIMMER
Operates on Single Stringline
OPERATING from a single reference line on the canal bottom, the Rahco Model T-20 canal trimmer trims in a single pass 60 ft. of slope and 20 ft. of canal bottom to fine tolerances.
Both grade and steering are auto- matically controlled by a single string- line instead of the conventional two- line system.
This leaves the riding berm free and clear for personnel, concrete trucks, and other equipment working near the trimmer.

many canal
The machine is designed to trim large canals where the use of full-
section machines Rahco Model T-20 canal trimmer is not practical or economically feasible.
The trimmer adapts to canals with varying bottom widths and those in which bottom width is extra-wide relative to depth.

HIGHWAY MARKING
New Instantly Reflective Thermoplastic Material
SPRAYPLASTIC, a new technique for highway marking, laid as a 1/16 in. thick coating at speeds in excess of 4 m.p.h., is announced by the manufac- turers, Universal Highways Ltd.. Crawley, Sussex, UK.
The hard-setting resins and aggre- gate used in the manufacture of the material are claimed to ensure a life at least eight times as long as that of good quality marking paints. Drying time is only 30 seconds.
Sprayplastic is instantly reflective because the reflective glass beads are sprayed directly on to the surface of the marking material immediately after it has been laid and before it has time to dry.
The equipment used to apply Sprayplastic can be mounted on any standard chassis. The equipment is self-contained, having its own heat exchange unit to melt the thermoplas- tic material which is maintained con- tinuously at the required temperature by a thermostat.
Special paint spraying equipment is used whereby a mixture of com- pressed air and 'Sprayplastic' is fed through the system to heated spray guns. The operator's position is at the rear of the vehicle where he has a control console by means of which he can automatically select any mark-
