Admel 15-91 drawing office furniture mm. deep by 787 mm. high, the plan table incorporates only a sapele top in its most basic form. The next version, however, adds a full-width, full-depth plan drawer directly underneath the table top, while the remaining three versions, all with the plan drawer as standard, incorporate either one or both of two 330-mm.-wide side cabinets; the first fitted with three drawers and the second housing an A4- size deep-filing space underneath a lockable personal drawer.
Produced in the same overall dimensions as the plan table, the three- and six-drawer plan cabinets differ from other units in the range by hav ing grey stove-enamelled metal sides. The photograph shows the six-drawer version, with a long spur unit.
In both the single- and double- sided reference units, the side panels which support the drawings are slanted back at an angle of 53 deg. The two units measure 787 mm. high to the lower edge of the reference surface, 1.482 mm. high overall and 4.116 m. long, with depths of 527 mm. and 1.051 m. for the single- and double- sided units respectively.
If required, the double-sided ver- sion can be fitted with a 610-mm.- wide by 133-mm.-high roll-storage box, a single-drawer component. or the same choice of side cabinets as is available with the reference table.
The two spur units, for making L-shaped layouts with any of the items described, have sapele-finished block- board tops and sapele back-panel strips. They measure 787 mm. high by 457 mm.

DOOR CLOSER
Based on a rack-and-pinion system, the closer mechanism of the Linear door closer is housed in a strong pres- sure-die-cast body made of a zinc- based alloy. It is non-handed and can be fixed on to doors in positions which, when fitted with the appro- priate linkage, will accommodate push- and pull-side installations on either left or right-hand-opening versions.
The body of the Linear closer, fix- ed to the door by means of three screws, incorporates an adjusting de-

vice to vary the closing speed, and fea- tures a positive latching action which can be eliminated if required. The photograph shows the unit installed. with a track and arm assembly and a cover made of silver-anodised alumi- nium with black polypropylene end
caps.
It measures 9 in. wide by 3-5/32 in. high by 1-11/16 in. deep (229 by 80 by 43 mm.), while the cover is 94 by 2% by 1-5/8 in. deep (235 by 70 by 41 mm.).
Measuring 1 ft. 4-3/8 in. long, the horizontal track can be supplied in three versions; two for push-side instal- lations and one for the pull side. The first two fit on the underside and the face of the surrounding frame, while the third (illustrated) incorporates two fixing flanges set at 90 deg. to each other, so that it can be fitted at the
corner edge to both the face and the underside of the frame.
A separate stand-open device, sup- plied as standard with the three track assemblies, enables the door to be held open at either 95 or 125 deg. Parallel and projecting scissor linkages, for push- and pull-side applications respec- tively, are also available.

MICROFILM
A low-price microfilm viewer that may be fitted to accept most commer- cially-available 16-mm. cassettes, roll film or microfiche has been introduced by Computor Instrumentation Ltd., School Lane, Chandler's Ford, East- leigh, Hants., UK.
Designated the 500 series, the view- er is available in two versions: Type A, giving a magnification of 18:1; and the more-expensive Type B, giving a mag- nification of 38:1 for twin-track mate- rial.
Both models feature 270- by 283-mm. translucent screens, adjust- able to give viewing angles of 15 or 45 deg. With the surface screen at 45 deg., they have common dimensions of 500 mm. high by 320 mm. wide by 550 mm. deep (350 mm. deep with the screen at 15 deg.), and weigh appro- ximately 7 kg.
The instrument's housing com- prises a die-cast aluminium front, a

moulded plastic-fibre cabinet recessed on both sides for carrying, and a metal base. Controls include bi-directional manual operation, brilliance and focus adjustment, and the viewing-angle changeover.
The unit operates on a mains sup- ply of 115 or 220/240 v., 50-400 Hz., or can be supplied to suit a 12-v. d.c. input.
