HAND-RINSE BASIN

Inset Into Wall with

Concealed Plumbing

OF compact dimension, to the 4in. module, the new Barbican hand-rinse basin is intended for flush vertical mounting, inset into the wall with concealed plumbing.

The unit measures 20 in. x 16 in. but projects 6 in. from the wall face. Hot and cold supplies are connected to a spray-mixer fitting of special de- sign. The taps are placed vertically on the side panel with the spray nozzle high in the basin and close to the back of the panel.

The rectangular soap tray is situat- ed below the taps and has raised domes to keep the soap dry. The

BATHROOM FITTING

Wall-mounted Laminated Plastic Top with Basin

THE Wall-mounted Isis toilet table consists of a Perspex basin set into a laminated-plastic table top. The flush, water-tight joint between basin ledge and laminated plastic allows splashed water to be freely wiped back into the basin.

Overall dimensions of the table are 4 ft. by 1 ft. 10 in. by 54 in. high, while the basin measures 1 ft. 8 in. by 1 ft. 51⁄2 in. by 6 in. deep. In

addition to the basin, the table top incorporates hot and cold water taps, a chrome-plated towel rail, and a small storage drawer.

Set flush with the front of the table top, the drawer is made in the shape of a quarter circle hinged to swing open about its left-hand edge. Standard tables come in 14 different colour combinations made up from ten shades of Formica or Warerite plastic laminate and five basin colours --white, green, blue, pink and yellow.

CASTELLATED BEAM

High Strength and Weight Saving Characteristics

THE Litzka castellated steel beam, developed in Germany, is now being made by Sanders and Forster, Ltd., Warton Road, London, E.15.

The method of castellating rolled steel joists is a patented process which is said to eliminate the limitations as- sociated with traditional castellated beams. A wide variety of aperture proportions and expansion plates provides an almost unlimited range of beams up to a depth of 48 in., and

load carrying capacity can be design- ed with little increase in the weight per foot run.

The maintenance of a constant ceiling height throughout a structure can be resolved by the use of the beams which permit a common depth despite wide variations in the loading requirements of individual members. The web apertures allow freedom for the passage and routing of services and ducting which can be accom- modated within the beam depth.

For large span roof structures with up to 120 ft. clear span the Litzka beams are advantageous due to their resistance to excessive deflection. A limited pre-determined camber can also be formed in the beams to pre- vent "ponding".

SIGN

Cold Cathode Grid Illuminates Box Evenly

INTENDED for hotels, shops and restaurants, a recently-introduced il- luminated box sign makes use of a cold cathode grid, working on 3.000 v. at 120 ma., as a light source. This is arranged in a spiral, an S-shape or a U-shape to distribute the light evenly.

The casing, 6 in. deep and available in thirty-three lengths from 2 to 30 ft. and thirteen heights from 1 to 4 ft.. is made from lead-coated sheet steel, and a stepped edge gives the
