THE

FASTEST LIFTS IN HONG KONG

are in the building to the left International Building, Connaught Road and its twin, Realty Building. Pictured above is a lithograph drawn in 1902 not long after Elisha Graves Otis intro- duced to the world the concept of modern vertical transportation. A spiral railroad circling the structure was this artist's idea of serving tenants in his city-in-one - building. By contrast, Otis elevators serve the 31 floors of International and Realty buildings at speeds up to 800 ft. per min.

They are the fastest lifts in the Colony in the tallest buildings in the Far East.
