Emulsion Seals Cracks in Asphalt
A METHOD Of repairing cracks in black top surfaced roads or driveways involves the use of Mulseal, a rubber latex bitumen emulsion manufactured by Expandite Ltd., Chase Road, Lon- don, N.W.10.

Repairing cracks with Mulseal are dispersed in bitumen so that when the emulsion breaks, a tough rubber bitumen compound is left which will neither crack in cold weather soften excessively under heat.

The repair can be carried out with little interference to traffic. Two men, one pouring the Mulseal from gallon oil measure and one using a squeegee, can cover 230 yd. of cracks in an hour. After a blinding of sand the road can be immediately re-opened to traffic.

STEEL BATH
Made from Single Sheet of Steel
BRITISH Company, Edward Curran Engineering. Ltd.. Cardiff, UK, are marketing a bath made from a single sheet of 14 guage steel with a deep flange to eliminate deflection.
It weighs 94 lb. and has a low

The dimen-
sions are 5ft. 6in. long by 2ft. 4in. wide by 15in. deep at the waste. It is supported on cradles which fix to the bath and the floor. Alternative heights of cradle give clearances of Sin, or 74in. at the waste outlet to accommodate a 14in. or 3in. trap.
Colours in acid and alkali resist- ing vitreous enamel include white, pink, primrose, blue, turquoise and green.
Curran export to South East Asia, but have no agency agreements here as yet.

FEATURE of a new drinking foun- tain produced by American Standard in two forms is a modern egg-shaped design which ensures that the jet nozzle is protected against fouling. Called the Isis, the fountain replaces the models previously called Dee.

PORTABLE SAW
Petrol Driven Machine Cuts Steel and Concrete
SWEDISH company. AB Partner, Box 2, Molndal I, are making an all-purpose portable cutting machine that can be used for cutting expan- sion slots in concrete, sizing rein- forced concrete H beams and cutting steel plate or sewer pipes.
Called the K12, it incorporates a petrol driven power unit developing 7 h.p. at 6,000 r.p.m., driving a 12in.

diameter cutting disc, which is pro- tected by a safety guard. The ma- chine weighs 24} lb. and cuts to a maximum depth of 4in.
The diaphragm type carburettor has a built-in automatic fuel pump which allows the saw to be used in any position without the risk of fuel cut-off. Any tendency for kick-back is prevented by a clutch which disengages should the blade jam.
