distinction brought to Filipino interior de- sign and furnishing is exemplified in a new private residence built in fas- hionable Urdaneta Village, Makati, Rizal, for Mr. and Mrs. Alfredo Landas.
Architect and interior designer, Walfredo T. Garcia, has laid out the home to occupy almost the entire 1,600 sq. metre site, but to be sur- rounded on all sides by a narrow landscaped brochade garden planted with some 350 varieties of tropical flora.
The entrance facade, before which is a concrete motor court surround- ed by lawns and a pebble bed, pre- sents simple lines faced in marble and aluminium-framed glass panels. Internally the most colourful part of the house is the living room, where modern European lounging furniture is set in a formal conver- sational grouping.
