Residential buildings
Windows and balcony doors to the flats are framed in hardwood with a natural clear varnish finish, while steel frames and doors, louvres, handrails and grilles are painted in a dark green-
grey.

The three high tower blocks along Beech Street - one rising 43 storeys above podium level and the other two 44 storeys are roughly triangular on plan, with three flats to each floor; the blocks are rotated on plan so that no two will present exactly the same out- look. Main living rooms are located at the corners of the blocks so that each has an outlook in two directions and a
maximum of daylight. Kitchens and bathrooms are placed toward the cen- tre of the building so that the maxi- mum of window area is available for living and bedrooms.
The terrace blocks are arranged to give the best outlook for living rooms. Blocks on a north-south axis are ar- ranged with flats facing east and west from a central corridor, except in one block along Moor Lane where an 'up-
