Costs
The piling contract was completed in three weeks, but the original build- ing time of 12 months was long delay- ed owing to financial difficulties of the contractor and his inability to secure skilled labour. Negotiations for termi- nation of the contract and the employ- ment of a succeeding contractor result- ed in a total delay of nine months in completion, bringing the total building time to 22 months.
The total building cost, including piling and all services was approx- imately S$1,488,000. This was made-
