Here the computer is requested to add whatever in the 'B/' storage register with the answer in 'A' register. This is to give the accumulated total and if the first item is entered there will not be any figure in 'B/' and therefore the answer will remain 'nlwh'. If, however there is an answer in 'B/' then the register 'A' will be 'B/ + nlwh'.
Here we want to exchange the constant in 'B/' with the constant in 'A' thereby storing the accumulated total in 'B/" register. There will, therefore, be no answer to our register ‘A' and B/ + nlwh will be transfered to register 'B/”. This will mean the print out of 'B/' register, thus giving the accumulated total in cubic feet.
B/ + nlwh
B/ + nlwh B/ + nlwh
B/+nlwh 27
This means the copying out of the answer from "B/' into register 'A' there- fore having 'B/ + nlwh' in register ‘A'. This is the instruction in generating a number.
This will generate the Number '27" inside register M.
This will mean dividing the answer in register 'A' with the figure in register 'M' thereby giving the answer 'B/+nlwh' in register A.
27
This 'A' will mean the print-out of answer in register 'A' which is the ac- cumulated total in cu. yards.
'V' means returning to the point ‘A V’ so that another set of dimensions can be started again.
Here is to gain access to another point in the programme so that another set of instructions can be given.
Here is the sign of clearing all the ac- cumulated total which is in 'B/' register. Therefore, the operator can clear the total by depressing the button 'W' which means that the instructions at 'AW' will apply.
This sign will bring the programme back to the point ‘AV' so that another set of dimensions be squared.
