lic linkage to the cistern, via 1⁄2 in. copper tubing. The only visible part of the system is the cast-iron pedal in a stainless-steel floor plate.
Pressing the foot pedal drives a plunger into a cadmium-plated cast- iron water reservoir set into the floor, and the resulting pressure is trans- mitted through the copper tubing to the flushing mechanism in the cistern.
Automatically self-primed from the cistern, the Hydroflush needs no top- ping up or special fluids, and the cop- per tube allows considerable flexibility in planning. This system is said to offer less risk of cross-infection than manual devices.
