fancoil unit air-conditioner, fed by a centralised chill water system.
Vertical circulation within the building is provided by four lifts divided into two groups. Three elec- tronically controlled passenger lifts form one group opening into the main lobby and a heavy duty service lift is placed in a separate lobby.
Fire resisting materials are used throughout the building. Externally the finish is in glass mosaic, which needs little maintenance.
Close-up of the window bays. A fancoil air conditioner system is installed between the window top and the cantileverled hood immediately above.
The interior walls to the main entrance lobby are lined with ribbed anodised aluminium sheets, which provide an attractive and permanent appearance.
Lift lobby walls at each floor are lined with Italian ceramic tiles. The sparkling pieces, being in geometrical relief, produce alternating effects of light and shade.
Double slabs and cork are used in the machine rooms to avoid any structural vibration or sound travel.
The architects are Eric Cumine (project architect, Mr. Stanley Kwok).
Contractors
Main contractor for the building was Lam Woo and Co.
Sub-contractors included: Otis Elevator Co. Ltd. (lifts), and Jardine Engineering Corporation,
Ltd. (air conditioning).
