One additional post of Announcer is required for the English Service and a further post of Telephone Operator is needed to provide service outside the normal hours of work.

Increases under Other Charges Annually Recurrent include $39,500 to cover increased royalty and transcription fees; $15,000 for records and recording tapes and $90,000 for general programme expenses resulting from increased activities.

Under Special Expenditure $55,000 has been included to meet the cost of replacing water pumps used in connexion with the main air-conditioning plant.

Two new posts of Assistant Commissioner of Rating and Valuation have been created to replace one post of Deputy Commissioner of Rating and Valuation, the present holder of which will retire during the financial year. One additional Rating and Valuation Surveyor and three Valuation Assistants are required to meet continuing expansion of rating and valuation work, while the provision for three additional Clerks, four Typists (offset by a reduction of one Confidential Assistant and one Clerk), one Clerical Assistant and one Messenger is necessary to deal with the clerical work associated with this expansion.

The net decrease shown under Other Charges Annually Recurrent is mainly accounted for by more favourable terms for rented office accommodation and the transfer of provision for certain equipment to Special Expenditure.

Under Special Expenditure the provision for Rating Records Equipment is required for the change over to a new system.
