Headquarters. The 2 additional Clerks are required on account of the increasing volume of work in the Department for which the existing establishment of 38 is no longer adequate.

Architectural Office. Of the 56 new posts, 49 were approved during the year, as indicated. The remaining 7 posts comprise a Clerk required in consequence of the increasing volume of clerical work connected with the Government building programme, and 1 Foreman Class III and 5 Watchmen transferred from daily-rated staff in accordance with the approved policy.

Building Ordinance Office. 4 of the 7 new posts were approved during the year as shown. The remaining posts of 1 Structural Engineer and 2 Building Surveyors are required as a consequence of the additional work which will be undertaken by this section of the Department next year.
