BUILDINGS.
1.-New No. 2 Police Station, $125,000.→The new station is being con- structed with pile foundations on the Praya East Reclamation and con- tains five European Flats of 3 to 4 rooms each and Barrack Room Accommodation for 50 Indian and 100 Chinese Police together with Charge Room, Offices, etc.
2. Sai Ying Pun New Market, $125,000.—The building consists of three floors and contains the following stall accommodation :-48 Fish Stalls, 18 Vegetable Stalls, 18 Beef and Mutton Stalls, 12 Poultry Stalls and 40 Pork Stalls, together with Killing Room, Quarters for coolies, etc.
3.-Victoria Gaol New Printing Shop, $50,000.—This work was commenced in 1930 to permit of the Printing work being carried out more efficiently and to accommodate the new printing machinery which had already been obtained.
4.—Additional Transmitting Block at Cape D'Aguilar W/T Station, $2,000. -Retention money. Work will be completed before the end of 1930.
5.--Latrine at U Hing Lane, $16,000.--This work was commenced in 1930 and consists of a 40 seat latrine and urinal together with Quarters for Caretaker-it is of the water flush type.
6.-Latrine on Praya East, $10,000.-This building consists of a 40 seat latrine and urinal together with Caretaker's Quarters-it is of the water flush type.
7.-Latrine and Urinal at Davis Street (30 seats), $3,000. This building will be completed in 1930 and the amount provided is for retention money to be paid in 1931. The latrine consists of 30 seats and 2 Urinals on the water flush system with Quarters for Caretaker.
8.-Infectious Diseases Hospital, $5,000.--The exact site for the new Infectious Disease Hospital is not yet selected but it is hoped to provide a suitable site and commence the work before the end of 1931
9.-Market at Praya East Reclamation-one storey only (open type) con- structed of reinforced concrete, $30,000. This one-storey Market is urgently needed to relieve the congestion in the Wantsai district. The market will be erected on a site on the new Praya East Reclamation.
GENERAL WORKS.
10.-Roads, $60,000.-To provide extension of roads in areas in course of development. Roads are macadamised, kerbed and channelled, and footpaths laid as new buildings are erected during the year.
11.--(a) Drainage Training Nullahs, $20,000.-To provide for training stream courses on areas under development assisting anti-malarial work.
(b) Drainage : Sewage and Storm Water Drains, $60,000.—To provide drainage facilities to new schemes and properties under develop-
ment.
