Total imports during the first eleven months of the year 1936 amounted to $407.7 millions (£25.8 millions), as compared with $330.7 millions (£33.1 millions) in the corresponding period of 1935; whilst exports amounted to $316.1 millions (£20.0 millions) as

In terms of local currency imports increased by 23.3 per cent. in the first eleven months of 1936, as compared with the corresponding period of 1935, and exports increased by 28.7 per cent.; whilst sterling value showed decreases of 22.1 per cent. in the case of imports, and 18.0 per cent. in the case of exports.
