All principal towns are now connected by telegraph and the new trunk railway which connects the F. M. S. Railways and the Siamese Railways has been completed. It is now possible to travel by rail from Singapore to Bangkok through Kelantan.

The quantity of copra exported in 1933 amounted to 869 tons as against 389 in 1932. The exports of rubber were valued at $1,396,261 as against $842,858 in 1932! The quantity of tin-ore exported was 1,297 tons valued at $1,541,312 being a decrease. in quantity of 378 tons and an increase in value of $149,186 as compared with 1932. The total gold from the State placed on the market in 1933 was 27,826 ounces of an estimated value of $1,384,716. The Raub Australian Gold Mining Company is respon- sible for 95 per cent. of this total output.

The total value of trade for 1933 was $6,293,054 as against $5,942,903, an increase of 6 per cent.
