S. Francis Xavier died on Sanchoan, 1552.

Six foreigners killed at Wang-chuh-ki, 1847. Soochow re-taken by the Iniperialists under General Gordon, 1863. The Japanese warship “Unebi-kan” left Singapore and not heard of again, 1886.
