The following from Chiefs of Staff.

Reference your T.0.0. 010422z and our 7042 of 5th December.

1. Eight hundred Royal Marine Commando personnel are available for despatch early January 1946. This will include one new Royal Marine Commando unit and re- inforcements for existing Royal Marine Commandos.

2. On arrival present Army Commandos should be amalgamated and will not be reinforced. Further reinforcements will be despatched as necessary to maintain 3 Royal Marine Commandos. You will thus have during present transitional period a Royal Marine Commando Brigade of 3 Royal Marine Commandos kept up to strength and one Army Commando in addition which will waste in due course.

C.-in-C. India is requested to despatch immediately reinforcements at present held at Commando base Lake Beale to No.3 Commando Brigade at Hong Kong.
