Repatriation.

One. Mar Office 82887. (CA (DP)) of 3 November states

Foreign Office state no nationals of Latin American republics

mentioned in telegram under reference fall within mandate either

of UNRRA or intergovernmental committee and suggest individuals

be referred to their protecting powers where possible".

Two. This is not in accordance with statement made by

Man in Hongkong to effect that all allied nationals would

receive same treatment regarding repatriation. Signal number

23467 of 26 September from Man (rpt Man) confirms LA nationals

INC should be evacuated.

Three. Following numbers of nationals referred to in

para one have applied for repatriation. Chile two, Costa Ric

eleven, Colombia six, Ecquador 14, Guatemala twelve, Mexico 67,

Nicaragua four, Panama eight, Peru 34, total 158.

repatriate above as soon as British shipping available.
