Ministry of Food would be grateful if enquiries could be made about surpluses of oil seeds and fats available in China. These are wanted for Borneo and Hong Kong, and

particular commodities required are as follows:-

(a) For Borneo,

280 tons ground nuts. 100 tons lard.

300 tons be an oil.

(b) For Hong Kong,

3,425 tons ground nuts.

1,007 tons oil seed fats.

2. Ministry of Food are most anxious that some quantities of the above should be made available at the earliest possible date. Please, therefore, do what you can as far as present difficulties permit.

3. Please repeat to Shanghai.
