Will you please refer to Chunking telegrams Nos 814 and U/N of the 12th of August reporting the deaths of Lo King alias David Law, Meter Reader, Public Works Department, Hong Kong and Cheng Yu-Sun, Pension Clerical Service, Hong Kong.
The Crown Agents have provisionally
computed the pensions payable under the Hong Kong Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Scheme to the Widows of these officers on the assumption that contributions under the scheme have been recovered to the dates of death. We should be grateful if you would arrange for a telegram to be sent to Chungking authorising the payment of a pension at the rate of (a) $537.35 per annum to the widow of Lo King with effect from the 17th of March, 1945, inclusive, (b) $354.35 per annum to the widow of Cheng Yu-Sum, with effect from the 22nd of May, 1945, inclusive, subject to proof of identity and completion of the usual form of statutory declaration, in each case. According to the Crown Agents records Cheng Yu-Sun was married on 24th November, 1935 to a wife born on 12th September, 1914, and
