Treasury have now approved the giving of an assurance

to re-engaged Chinese employees that when appropriate

time comes for return of their dependents to Hong Kong

financial assistance towards dependents travelling

expenses will be made from Hong Kong funds. Such

assistance will be limited to wife and children of each

officer and will be at rates fixed by Embassy from time

to time for each locality having regard to local conditions.

Please inform Ambassador.
