Following is preliminary report on state of Hong
Kong Pockyard.
raids.
Eastern Corner of North Wall tidal basin
(A) Damage by air partly collapsed. All buildings on Easter Arm, including electrical shop and battery shed and sub station completely demolished • Platers ahed situated West Side of Dry Dock demolished. Commodores offices against West Wall damaged.
(B) All berths usable except that between Dry Dock and tidal basin of which Dry Dock lies, this may partly obstruct entry to Dry Dock which is otherwise apparently in good condition. CAISSON is floating (c) Pumping Station appears in good condition.
(D) Power supplies are two in number 400 KW diesel generators now working. Power can also be supplied from Kowloon through rotary convertor. Main switchboard was completely demolished and only temporarily repaired by Japanese.
(E) Workshops not mentioned in para ▲ are in good order but are short of hand tools and secondary equipment.
(F) Telophones in very bad stato. Most urgent requirement six miles fiold tolophone cable.
(G) All accommodation and offices other than Commodores Office in reasonable order except for lack of furniture. Reported that official residences outside Dockyard have boch stropped of contents.
(H) There about 6 sunken wrocks in Harbour by request one BAP Vessel be sent to raise sunken morrings.
(J) Voto 10 stores remaining are negligible. available locally yet. Request supply m pipework and of 500 feet 5 inch cast iron
(K) Internod Dockyard officials and Naval
re-habilitation.
Timber and cement not plumbing fittings and small pipes and variety bends.
