I attach a copy of a personal telegram from General Carton de Wiart to General Ismay (W. 1686).

The Chiefs of Staff at their meeting this morning considered the compromise suggestion contained in paragraph 6 of this telegram, and instructed me to inform you that they have no objection to this compromise, and would be grateful if the Foreign Office would consider the matter and take what action they consider necessary. General Carton de Wiart has been informed accordingly.
