Supreme Commander considers it would be a good idea for John Keswick to be attached to British force of occupation in Hongkong, The present idea is that he should fly in with Brigadier MacDougall to reach Hongkong as soon as possible after Admiral Harcourt re-occupies it and before S.E.A.C. force arrive.
2. There is of course no intention to interfere with Colonial Office arrangements and as you know, Gimson has now broadcast from Hongkong. The suggestion arises from the fact that Keswick is familiar with the military position and with outlook of S.A.C.S.E.A. and will form a useful link between military authori- ties and colony.
3. Unless you see any objection Keswick will leave about September 2nd.
