Japanese High Command to ensure that the Japanese

local commanders in the British Colony of Hong

Kong shall surrender to the Commander of the

British Naval Force on his arrival.

From the United States' standpoint

there is no objection to the surrender of Hong

Kong being accepted by a British officer pro-

viding full military co-ordination is effected.

engaged against the enemy or involved in

securing the surrender of Japanese forces in
