General Olmsted was not to be reached yesterday

but I informed his Chief of Staff accordingly last evening. The latter told me that Washington had informed General Wedemeyer earlier in the day of approach made to United States Chiers of Staff but did not indicate that he know what reply had been made.

Meanwhile acting G.0.C. informs me that B.A.A.G. have been invited to take part in Hong Kong drop

and party may well have moved off already.
