Transmits copy of letter of the 17th August from Mr. Antrobus (Office of the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, Canberra) to Mr. Gent stating that in a copy of The Hong Kong News of the 1st April, 1942 an announcement is made of the formation of two Chinese Councils to advise the Japanese Governor. The Chair- man of the "Chinese Representative Council" is Mr. Lo Kuk-Wo (Sir Robert Kotewall's Chinese name) and the two other members are Mr. Lau Tit-shing and Mr. Lie Tse Fong. Transmits copy of Colonial Office reply of 4th October.
