The experience of the
Hong Kong evacuation proved that this is not only the most

In order to meet the difficulties of accurate registration,
an effort is being made to point out to the authorities at points
in China that may be involved in evacuation schemes, that a plan

should be made particularly of the Manila Railroad Company,
Manila Electric Company, the Luz on Bus Line, the Benguet Auto
Line,
the Canadian Pacific Steamship Company, the Eastern &
Philippines Shipping Agencies, Ltd., the Bailey Stevedoring
Company, and the Manila Trading & Supply Co. It is felt that
civilian resources in Manila and the Philippines can be extended
to deal with very large problems connected not only with evacua-
tion from the Asiatic mainland but the rapid transfer of large
groups of civilians in the domestic area should this become
necessary in any future emergency.
