prepared in Hay, 1941, and it had been hoped to revise them before they were sent. It is not anticipated, however, that they will be materially altered and any alterations will be embodied in supplementary lists and sent from time to time as occasion requires.
7. At the request of the Government of India the plant belonging to the Academica Sinica has been included in the machinery to be evacuated, but a list of this plant is not yet available.
8. With reference to my telegram No.301 of 18th April, 1941, the committee appointed to consider the evacuation of plant, tools and stocks recommended that, as the removal of so much privately owed property would raise intricate questions of compensation, compensation must be settled after the evacuation. The actual value of the plant, etc., to be removed has been inserted in the lists for reference.
