I have been requested by the undermentioned organizations, represented on the Hong Kong District Administrative Whitley Committee to convey to you on behalf of their members, (Officers of H.M. Naval Yard, Hong Kong), their appreciation of the welcome given to their wives and families on evacuation to Manila.

During this difficult and anxious period the reports received of Red Cross work have been a great comfort, and I am to express the sincere gratitude of all those whose dependents have been so generously assisted.
