FOREIGN OFFICE, 3.W.1. 12th November, 1940.
Dear Dr. Thompson
The other day when you called on Sterndale Bennett you asked if we would take up with the Colonial Office the case of Mrs. Selwyn Clarke.
As you will have seen in the press, compulsory evacuation from Hong Kong has been suspended, and people are authorized to stay at their own risk. For the moment therefore no action about wrs. Selwyn Clarke seems necessary.
Yours sincerely
(Sgd.) ACHLEY CLARKE
Dr. H. G. Thompson.
