Reliable report from MACAU states that representative

MITSUI inquiring for tons of storage space for 3,000 tons

miscellaneous cargo from Hong Kong. Local reports state

that Yokahama Specie Bank shipped considerable number of

cases with their archives to Japan last voyage of asmara

Maru and N.T.K. also reported sending away their archives.

Above is not regarded as indicating

iminent Japanese attack on colony but tends to show

local merchants may have been "tipped" to expect period

of considerable tension in Anglo Japanese relations in

near future.
