ith reference to your confidential despatch

of 27th January, 1939, regarding the internment of

Chinese soldiers in Hong Kong, I have the honour to

inform you that an internee named LAU FONG FUK aliás

LAU KRONG FUK was shot and killed while attempting to

escape from the camp on the night of 29th November,

1939.

2.

A copy of the depositions taken at the

death inquiry by the magistrate performing the duties

of coroner is forwarded herewith for information.

3.

Copies of this despatch (without enclosure)

are being sent to His Majesty's Ambassadors at Tokyo

and Shanghai.
