Hong Kong.
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Act, 1939, as extended to the Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, published respectively as Government Notification Nos. 707 and 708 in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 39 of the 26th August, 1939, His Excellency the Governor makes the following regulations-
Defence (Salvage) Regulations.
1. The conduct of salvage operations in the Colony and its territorial waters without the prior consent of the Governor, signified in writing under the hand of the Colonial Secretary, is prohibited.
2. The granting or withholding of such consent shall be in the absolute discretion of the Governor.
3. The provisions of the Defence Regulations, 1939, of the Colony shall apply for the purpose of the enforcement of these Regulations, and otherwise in relation thereto, as if these Regulations were included therein.
