Your letter(26/26/210, of the 19th of January about
the Crown Advocate.
I had to refer the matter to the Consul General and
Mossop because I had no other means of finding answers to your
questions.
For myself I have not seen much of riestwood, but
official correspondence with him passes unter my eye and I an
Teds
bound to say sometimes he has been a bit slow about dealing
with the stuff we send to him.
Phillips, however has more to ao with him and hes
put his views into a letter to me, a copy of which I send you.
I had talk with mossop this morning. 11e confessed
that he had heard that from time to time Priestwood haa bouts
of drinking, but that there had never been any sign of this in
the Court, where his work had been satisfactory. mossop
therefore had no grounds to ask for his dismissal. He added that
socially speaking Priestwood had an inferiority complex which
:
mede him shun the usual parties.
