Reduction of French garrisons in North China.
Copy telegram No. G/99(10/11) from Commander, Tientsin Area, stating that French Commandant called loth November, and stated he had received orders that French garrison North China is to be reduced, only one battalion and administrative troops will remain Tientsin area. He had instructions to inform foreign commandants verbally at same time as Commander informs them. He will probably request British assistance in provision of shipping to transport about 600 troops with families and large quantity of stores from Tientsin to Shanghai or Indo- China.
