Infringement of Hong Kong territory by Japanese aircraft.

Refers to Foreign Office letter of 15th May (F 4538/4161/10).

Transmits copy Hong Kong telegram No.153 of 18th May repeating telegram to Tokyo No.45 (repeated Shanghai No.61, Canton No.57). Commander-in-Chief intends to take up question strongly with Japanese Naval authorities at Shanghai and will no doubt mention possibility of anti aircraft firearms. There is no possible doubt that all machines concerned were Japanese naval planes.
