Infringement of Hong Kong territory by Japanese aircraft.
Refers to Hong Kong telegram to Canton No.55 of 10th May (repeated Colonial office), Presumes he will be required to protest against renewed violation of New Territory.Protest will be more effective if he is authorised to say that further aeroplanes violating New Territory will be liable to anti-aircraft fire. Military and Naval authorities in Tokyo both deny that aeroplanes which violated territory before (see Tokyo telegram No.372 - F 4168/4161/10) were Japanese. Suggests he should add that warning given to Japanese is also being given to Chinese. (Repeated Shanghai No.335, Hong Kong No.82).
